Galvatek delivers aluminium surface treatment line to Ouneva

Galvatek has delivered a surface treatment line for aluminium components to the Ouneva factory in Tuupovaara, Eastern Finland. The new automated line is designed to apply electrolytic tin to aluminium cable connectors. Ouneva’s connectors are used in distribution boards, and approximately 70 percent are exported.

“The new surface treatment line delivered by Galvatek represents the single biggest equipment investment in Ouneva’s history. The installation process was the smoothest we have ever experienced,” comments Mikko Nevalainen, CEO of Ouneva Group.

Galvatek previously delivered a copper surface treatment line to Ouneva’s Tuupovaara factory in 2013. The new aluminium line is located alongside the copper line. Both lines share the same Galcont control system, and they both use the clean water, waste water and ventilation systems delivered by Galvatek in 2013.

The new fully automatic tin plating line utilises two hanging methods. Barrels are used for small parts and special jigs for larger aluminium parts. The waste water treatment plant uses neutralisation as the main processing method. The delivery included also an ion exchanger and a reverse osmosis unit. The Candovent ventilation system is powered by a wet scrubber and a ventilation fan.

“Galvatek is internationally recognised as a supplier of surface treatment lines for the aviation industry, but this delivery shows that we still serve domestic clients and those outside the aviation industry,” says Ulf Pråhl, Managing Director of Galvatek.

Ouneva ordered the aluminium surface treatment line in October 2015, and the line was ready by May 2016. Only eight months were needed from the time the agreement was signed to the start-up of the new line.

Teemu Tiainen, BSc (Tech), 30, has been appointed as Project Engineer, Electrical Systems, from 7st December 2015. Teemu has several years’ experience in electrical design, maintenance operations and spare parts sales in the sawmill industry as well as process industry. Teemu will be strengthening our electrical and automation team.

Jani Ruhanen, BSc (Tech), 35, has been appointed as Main Designer from 3th August 2015. Jani has ten year experience as a design, engineering, development and product management for raw material handling industry. Jani will be responsible of mechanical engineering for projects, as well as development functions in our engineering team.

We warmly welcome Teemu and Jani to Galvatek and wish the best of success in their new positions.

Positive business outlook for Galvatek

Galvatek expects a good economic forecast for the current financial year, despite there being a down turn in certain operating fields. The global aviation industry continues an upward trend while the European aluminium industry is still struggling with overcapacity.

Galvatek has won a significant order over the delivery of two fully automated Al Anodizing and titanium etching lines together with an advanced waste water treatment plant and NDT equipment with the American multinational aeronautic giant, The Boeing Company.

Boeing is one of the largest global aircraft manufacturers and sought after partner in the aviation industry. The large-scale delivery is planned to be fully operational at its location Abu Dhabi, Arab Emirates, by 2016.

The end-user of the Galvatek surface treatment equipment is going to be Tawazun Precision Industries, TPI, local partner of Boeing.

This contract is a full turnkey delivery which includes a delivery of fully automated Galvatek chemical cleaning and inspection lines for CFM 56 and Leap engines. Contract marks a milestone in company’s history with the entrée to one of the world’s fastest growing Chinese aviation market which dominates the annual global air traffic growth by 65 %.

MRO services for CFM56 series engines

SSAMC is a joint venture between Air China and CFM based at the Chengdu-Shuangliu airport. It offers wide range of MRO services especially for CFM56 engines. The agreed delivery will be executed in two phases over a period of one and a half years at Chengdu, Chinese Province of Sichuan. The project will be carried out in cooperation with the Beijing Great Harvest, Galvatek’s representative in China region. Capacity of the planned cleaning and inspection lines with options exceeds 300 engines annually. The complete system is planned to be in full operation by late 2016.

Galvatek and Alstom sign a contract of two stripping lines for Gas Turbine maintenance in Vietnam and UAE

Galvatek and Alstom sign a historical contract for two Gas Turbine Maintenance Stripping Lines.

 

The world leading transport infrastructure, power generation and electrical grid manufacturer Alstom and Galvatek have signed a sizeable contract for the turnkey deliveries of two compact stripping lines in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Vietnam.

Galvatek stripping lines will significantly increase Alstom’s gas turbine reconditioning capabilities in both Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and in Phu My, Vietnam. Full automation together with advanced Galvatek Candovent ventilation system were the key elements that met Alstom’s strict technical and environmental requirements. This 1.5 million euro contract includes pre-installation, erection and commissioning of the plants by Galvatek experts. Both installations will be introduced to full production by early 2015.

Galvatek already embraces a large number of highly respected references in the aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) industry. Hard Anodizing line and Waste Water Treatment Plant for TE Connectivity in Swindon, UK

 

TE Connectivity (TE) and Galvatek have signed a contract of for a Turn Key Delivery of a Hard Anodizing line and Waste Water Treatment plant to be delivered in Swindon, UK.

The hard anodizing line will be part of TE’s extension to their main production facility in the UK, which is currently supplying extruded aluminum components for use in the aviation market. The contract scope includes the installation of a fully automated anodizing line, and an advanced waste water treatment plant. Erection and supervision of the turn key delivery will be completed by Galvatek experts. Installation will be introduced to the production still before the end of 2014.
